Where to balance too busy vs. too bored?
I always said I would not over schedule my kids but I feel a little of it coming on. Pick one activity/sport per season and that will be plenty. ( That was my original thought)...
Now I am giving in. Two sports (maybe three?), music lessons, religious school, where is line drawn?
Where to balance too busy vs. too bored for your children?
You here it in the news. US leads the world in lazy and obesity. Sports and other activities, like dance and music, stimulate the body and the mind. I like video games, the kids have Wii and XBox, but I do not want that to be their primary after school activity!
Do you keep giving them the opportunities they want to get involved in if they can keep up their schoolwork and the 'parental shuttle' service is available? Do you draw a line in the sand? If so where? I am curious on what every one else is doing to balance there kids lives.
Comments welcomed...

Septa Unprepared
I guess Philadelphia forgets where more than half of the fan based comes from:
"Regional Rail will operate on a normal weekday schedule. Customers are reminded all trains are currently operating at capacity - We encourage you to leave early and expect crowds at Center City stations."
Bennett and made our first attempt to get on a train at 9AM at Warminster Station. Warminster is the first stop on the R6 line. We approached the station and noticed that the defunct Walmart store parking lot was full of cars and Phillies fans were walking the 1/8" mile trek down the road to the train station.
Like the lemming I am I pulled into this lot and started to noticed that there were a significant number of Phillies fans walking back to the parking lot. As we exited our car and started walking I asked someone who was returning what was going on. She informed me n
So we got back in the car and tried to think of our next stop. We drove to Bethayers station about 20 minutes away. Was pleasantly suprised to find parking just a short distance from the station. The crowd was much smaller than Warminster. Things were looking up!
Then I started to see some people walking back to their cars. I asked my question again, what is up? The gentlemen replied, you can buy your tickets but it does not mean the train will stop. All of the trains were full coming from prior stops. This person said 3 trains had passed through Bethayers without stopping.
Funny, I thought Septa was 'the other means of transportation' for today! After the 2nd full train went by it was approaching 10:45 and Bennett was already getting impatient. I made him the offer to keep waiting or head to school for his Halloween parade. He opted out of the wait and went to school a little disappointed but happy to put on his Halloween outfit!
